Queenscliff Market – Last one for the season – yep – 29 May 2016. And it’s going to be chilly. Best pop down for some of our Australian Merino, hand dyed, terry lined socks. Just the thing to beat the chill……. (and check out our complete Ladies wear winter range while you’re there)

Oh, and by the way……………. You must follow my blog, or my facebook page! (or both, yeah, go for both) Why? Well, that’s where all the great Goomo news can be found. Important stuff, like where I will be and also the latest news on new styles as they come “hot off the press and straight from my machines to you”. Do that NOW, quick!
The longer I live, the more focused on this I get: no longer happy with vast quantities of second-best imported stuff that’s thrown into our market place. The recent imported Frozen Berry saga made me really think about it all over again………………
I am a realist, however, I do know it’s a big ask to expect that everything we buy is going to be Australian. Have a look in your wardrobe, is there any Aussie Made Goodness in there? Here’s our challenge, let’s think about this and all the impacts there are when we all keep buying imports.
This year, buy a beautiful, Aussie made item of clothing, go on, love it, live it, wear it. You will thank yourself, and so will so many other folk……………
Superfine Australian Organic cotton: This is the fabric I am working on at the moment. It’s a dream, it’s my dream. Go on, ask me why?
I feel it as I work it:
It is so soft,
it is Australian,
it is a superfine knit and
it is organic cotton.
It is everything I look for.
I can’t always find Australian made fabric, of course, our market place has reduced so much over the years, so when I do find something to fit my range and style, bliss! I’m hoping you look for Aussie made things too.
It is a fabulous item to wear on its own, trans-seasonal, long raglan sleeves, nicely shaped crew neck, A-line shaping, and asymmetrical hem with the sides slightly longer than the front and back. Wear it on its own or under one of my pure linen vests – either the Goomo blossom or the Goomo seedling print.
The Design Exchange Market is this Sunday 15 December 2013.
The Mining Exchange Building, 8a Lydiard Street North, Ballarat. Runs from 10 am to 4 pm. Filled with the best collection of Artisan makers you could hope for. It is absolutely the place to be to finish your Christmas shopping.
I have some fantastic new limited edition ladies wear ready to go, linen tops, dip dyed tee shirts, stripe tee tops, fabulous designs, fresh colours. You’ll look great for Christmas too.
These are great for gifts, or there’s my individually hand dyed socks (two types now on offer!), fingerless mittens, silk and wool scarves, throw rugs and cushions. My stall will be bursting with wonderful treats.
Recently I ran a “Natural Dyeing – Plant Print – Workshop”!
The picture is of some of the magnificent fabric samples the clever ladies produced! Totally beautiful and amazing (both the fabrics and the ladies that came!). I would like to thank those special ladies that came to the workshop, it really was fabulous and that is because the ladies that came were just wonderful!
I will be running another workshop soon, so if you are interested, please contact me and I can send you the details.
Oh, yes, and importantly, tomorrow is the Design Exchange Market in Ballarat.
